Dr. Scott Gerson M.D., Ph.D., Founder,
Chief Āyurvedic Consultant and Physician

Dr. Scott Gerson founded his private medical practice in 1982, and since that time has integrated Āyurveda with conventional allopathic medicine. Currently, Dr. Gerson is the only Westerner to hold both the postgraduate M. Phil. (Ayu) and a Ph.D. degree in Āyurveda--the highest level of Āyurvedic education--and the only physician in the United States to have complete formal training in both conventional and Āyurvedic medicine.

Dr. Gerson is proud to be a Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine where he helps develop and teach aspects of Āyurveda and integrative medicine to medical students and faculty. He does not travel extensively except for trips to India once a year. He prefers to remain as quiet and still as possible and to assist his patients with their understanding of their health conditions. The primary activity in his life is to be available as an Āyurvedic consultant and physician for his patients in his office, which is now in Sarasota, Florida. He also travels to New York City offering consultations several times a year.

Regina DeWitt, RN, Director of GIAM Yoga Services, owner Prana Yoga & Healing Center,

After 30 years working in the hospital as an RN, Regina decided to take health care into a different arena. She began the study of yoga in 1995 due to depression following the death of her remaining parent. She studied yoga in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar with Rodney Yee, and Richard Rosen learning and discovering alignment principles of the practice. Yoga and the vast wisdom of the body and breath showed an inclusive approach to overall health, wellness and spirituality.

In 2009, Regina left the hospital to open Prana Yoga and Healing Center offering classes, workshops, and teacher training. In 2011, she began to study Kundalini Yoga through the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. A deeper transformation began to happen as the teachings of kriyas, breath, meditation, and chants enveloped her practice and life. Kundalini Teacher Training was offered at Prana Yoga in 2015 for the first time because she wanted to share these teachings and she was a part of the graduating class.

She still maintains her RN license, in addition to E-RYT 500, and a Certified Kundalini teacher.
